"Plastic Jacket"

ST- Hard service cord, all plastic construction 600 bolt jacket, 60 C
SJT- Junior, 300volt plastic jacket. Same construction as ST but thinner, lighter jacket.
STO- Same construction as ST but with oil resistant thermoplastic outer jacket 600 volt 60 C
SJTO- Same construction as SJT but with oil resistant Thermoplastic outer jacket.

As can be seen, the plastic jacke identification system is essentially the same as the neoprene group with the addition of "T" which indicates thermo-setting plastic.

"Primary Wire"

This wire is usually single conductor and has the same circular mill rating as portable cord, but has fewer strands and the strands are thicker. This cord is therefore less flexible, but is also less expensive. It is sometimes called booster cable in the 18 gauge through #8 gauge and it is called starter cable in the 6 gauge through 2/0 gauge.

"Trailer Wire"

Bonded Primary Each conductor is individually insulated and colored. The conductors are then bonded together in parallel construction and do not have a jacket cover. They are in 3 conductors or 4 conductors sizes. Colors are: for 3 conductor, yellow, brown, green: and for 4 conductor, yellow, brown, green, white.
