3 Conductor Extra Long “Y”s for Suspended Platforms

For years now, painters, window workers, and other craftsmen have been using “Suspended Platforms”-an electrically operated platform or scaffold. These platforms pull themselves up or lower themselves on steel cable that run through the electric gear motors provided, one on each side. Typically, current is brought up an extension cord which feeds electricity to the “Y” shown below:

As can be seen, we have three lengths of cord attached inside a metal box which in turn is on a metal platform. Should one of the “hot” leads work loose, we have the makings of a serious accident. Tragically, fatalities have occurred and the potential is present for additional fatalities. Combine electricity, metal container, solvents, acid washes sudden rains and the usual hostile environment of a construction site ant the tragedies have to occasionally occur. Makeshift insulators around the metal box are not the answer. We replace the metal box with our neoprene composition, molded “Y” as shown below.

Our extra long “Y”s are available in three standard styles Blunt, 20amp and 30amp.
Blunt “Y”s come without any wiring devices.
20amp “Y”s come with 20amp 250volt (L6-20) devices and boots attached.
30amp “Y”s come with 30amp 250volt (L6-30) devices and boots attached.
